Good things happen when a QDN Peer Support Group and local councillor come together

The Brisbane North Peer Support Group have been leading change in their Nundah community.  The peer lead group for people with disability invited Councillor Adam Allan to a group meeting recently to talk about local road and access concerns.

Since then, Councillor Adams has been working closely with the Group Convenor, Mark Warren, on ways to improve the accessibility and safety of a number of public transport areas around Nundah.

At the Brisbane North Peer Support Group meeting, Councillor Allan meet and listened to Mark and the group members about their concerns which he then took back to the Council so they could find possible solutions.

After listening to the feedback from local community members with disability, the Transport for Brisbane Team have installed an extra panel of fencing at one bus stop and are looking to install a ramp at another loading zone.

Mark and Councillor Allan are continuing to work together on other areas of concern to enhance the safety and accessibility of transport for all people.
