QDN believes in, and celebrates, the power of Peer Leadership in affecting change for people with disability.
We believe it is critical to empower people with the skills they need to act as active citizens in their own lives and communities, and support others through it.
QDN has established the LEAD Institute, which focuses on developing leadership and mentoring skills, group facilitation and knowledge.
QDN has developed a core group of people with disability, including intellectual or learning disability, as leaders. They have been working as facilitators, and champions for others, in helping others in their leadership journey about the things that are important to them in their life. Some key things include the NDIS, housing, health and employment.
It is one powerful way we live our motto – ‘Nothing about us without us’.
