    Elections

QDN’s election platforms are based on feedback from QDN members, including Peer Support Group members, and reflect QDN’s regular engagement with people with disability, families and supporters throughout the range of systemic advocacy and project work we deliver. The key issues and solutions in QDN’s election platforms are informed and identified by QDN members.

    Our advocacy

As a Systemic Advocacy organisation, QDN undertakes a range of strategic activities to influence and bring about change on key issues that are important to people with disability.

    Des Ryan said:

“QDN and other peak organisations had pushed for a gold accessibility standard to be applied but welcomed the introduction of a silver standard. My thanks to QDN members for your active engagement and I am pleased that the voice of people with disability has been heard. Australia’s new housing standards in the national construction code are a big win for people with disability”
