QDN developed an election platform for the Queensland Local Government Elections held on Saturday 28 March 2020.

QDN asked all mayoral candidates in Queensland’s 77 local government areas to commit to our 10 recommendations and to broadly promote and advance the interests of all people with disability.

Councils play a vital role in creating inclusive, accessible, and welcoming communities. In consultation with people with disability, councils are often best placed to identify barriers that prevent people with disability from fully participating in their local community, and to develop practical solutions that best fit local needs.
