DAVID GREENE

David Greene

David Greene is a first-generation Australian, having migrated to Brisbane from Ireland in 2012. He is currently the President of the Irish Australian Chamber of Commerce, and has extensive experience as a lawyer, as a government policy professional, and as a not-for-profit board director.

Having been diagnosed with arthritis-associated uveitis at the age of 12, David has battled eye disease for over 25 years. In the past 2 years, his eye condition has resulted in a serious and permanent loss of vision which has resulted in significant changes and adjustments to his life. This has included a difficult NDIS journey, returning to work and learning new ways to work, and learning to adjust to new mobility challenges.

David is a champion of diversity and inclusion, and wants to give voice and representation to underrepresented communities, including the LGBTQA+ and migrant communities within the broader disability-advocacy environment. David’s skills in advocacy, representation, and leadership, gained from a career in legal practice and in government, will be an added bonus to the activities of QDN. David lives in Brisbane City with his husband Tom, a psychologist. He enjoys good food, wine, travel, and exercise, as well as the company of friends and family.
