Community forums

The Queensland Government recently announced the Queensland Disability Stakeholder Engagement and Co-Design Strategy.

The Strategy will guide collaborative work together to engage with stakeholders as we embark on significant reforms of the disability sector over the next four years.

As part of this work, QDN recently hosted community forums in partnership with the Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety.

The community forums took place across Queensland attracting 787 registrations for the opportunity to provide input into disability reform, planning and an insight into the various ways that stakeholders can get involved.

Everyone who registered their interest in a 2025 Queensland Stakeholder and Co-design Strategy Forum has been included in the Community of Practice. This group will have the opportunity to contribute regularly to the strategy. You can participate as much or as little as you wish.

Those who expressed their interest in joining the Disability Reform Implementation Stakeholder Committee and the Co-design team will be notified of the outcome in the coming weeks.

For everyone who provided feedback during the forums, we have captured this feedback, and this will form part of the planning.

Thank you again for being a part of these forums and for your input into the Queensland Disability Reforms. We will be in touch soon with the next step in this important process.

There will opportunities to be involved in disability reform in Queensland, as outlined in the strategy.

This Strategy will ensure the voices of Queenslanders with disability and the disability community, are at the heart of significant disability reforms. Your involvement will help drive innovative solutions and improved outcomes across the state.
