New registration system for the NDIS - response to Provider and Workforce Registration Taskforce

Minister Shorten has today announced the government’s response to the advice provided in the NDIS Provider and Workforce Registration Taskforce Final Report. Platform providers, Support Coordinators, and Supported Independent Living (SIL) providers will soon all be required to register with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

The changes will occur under the current registration model but in order to occur, the NDIS (Provider Registration and Practice Standards) Rules 2018 will need to be amended. The Commission will begin consultation with the disability community on new Rules in October.
