QLD Human Rights Commission - Review of Queensland's Anti-Discrimination laws

There will be a series of community conversations held as the public consultation process for the review of Queensland's Anti-Discrimination Act and they are now open for registration.

These events are public and open to the whole community, and everyone is welcome to attend. The Anti-Discrimination Act and its protections impact on many parts of public life, from work to school to buying your groceries, so whether you are a representative of your local community group, a small business owner or employer, a member of a faith congregation, part of a sporting team, or someone with an experience of discrimination or harassment, The Commission want to hear from you.

Attending a community conversation will give you the chance to come together with other people in your area, learn a bit about the Act, share your experiences, and discuss options for improving the law so it protects and promotes equality for everyone, to the greatest extent possible.

Rockhampton and Townsville are the first locations on the list - your community conversations are coming up next month!

The Commission also have sessions scheduled for Ipswich, Cairns, Logan, Toowoomba and the Sunshine Coast, and are currently consulting with community in the Torres Strait, Yarrabah, Palm Island and Woorabinda so details on those consultations will be available soon.
