e-Blast: Changes to free food distributions and services in Brisbane

We wanted to keep you up to date with information we have about changes in the way free food distribution services will be run due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Below is information about services that are open and what is available at each place.

Remember the Community Recovery Hotline on 1800 173 349 and the Red Cross Hotline on 1800 733 111 are there for you if you need social and emotional telephone support.

Wesley Mission QLD EMERGENCY RELIEF HUB

Address: 216 St Pauls Terrace, Fortitude Valley (entry is via the garden gate)

Opening times: Monday to Friday 9.00am to 12.00pm and 1.00pm to 3.00 pm

What is available:

• Food hampers
• Medical scripts (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday during these times)
• BBQ served from a table in the garden space and is served as a takeaway burger from 10am to 11am (Tuesdays). Garden space is only accessible to staff, who will give you the burger to takeaway.
• Community meals (pre-packed meals served from the garden space for people to collect.
• SUNDAY LUNCH: 1pm to 2pm, MONDAY DINNER: 30pm to 7.30pm, WEDNESDAY DINNER: 6.30pm to 7.30pm

• An isolation room for people who are unwell.

• No meals
• But will still distribute fresh food on Tuesdays
• One person at a time will be allowed in for a shower.

What is available:

• For limited food parcels and emergency relief.

They hope to return to normal operating hours from March 31.
