e-Blast: An Update from the CEO

Dear QDN Members, Supporters and Allies

We all need to take care of ourselves and each other during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic that is spreading around the world.  We know COVID-19 means things are different for people and we are having to change the way we do things.

To do our part in slowing the spread of the virus, in line with Queensland Health information QDN have decided to:

  • Postpone all face-to-face Local Support Group meetings – although we will still be connecting remotely in other ways, as detailed below.
  • Ask staff to work from home for a while, still contactable to members and supporters and continuing to undertake QDN’s important work.
  • Shut down the office for a while at 338 Turbot Street, Spring Hill .

As such, the QDN office will be closed from today, on Friday 20th March. Be assured you can still contact QDN and staff in the same way during business hours. However, please have patience if we are a little slower responding to you, given the circumstances.  We will re-open as soon as practical.

The QDN team and your Local Support Groups Convenors will continue to work remotely and we are available via our usual telephone, email, website and social media contacts.

We will send you another email soon letting you know of new ways you will be able to stay connected.

We will continue to work hard on things that matter to our Members and Queenslanders with a disability and make sure there is nothing about us without us.

QDN will be regularly putting out emails and Facebook posts which will have useful information and tips.  We encourage you to keep up to date with the latest news and keep in touch with  us by:
