The Department of Transport and Main Roads | Survey opportunities
Have your say!
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is developing its new Disability Action Plan for improving accessibility of the Queensland passenger transport network. To help shape a meaningful plan that reflects the needs of people with disability, TMR has two surveys to capture your experiences and rate your priorities for improving the network. There is a survey for people with disability and a survey for carers. You can fill in whichever survey is most relevant to you.
The survey is expected to take about 10 minutes to complete. The closing date for the survey is 9 May 2025.
TMR is seeking broad and diverse representation, including from people in regional and rural areas. People who don’t use passenger transport are also encouraged to respond. So now is your chance to make a difference to the future of passenger transport accessibility – go ahead and have your say!
To access the surveys, please follow these links:
*If you would prefer a Word version of the surveys, or if you are having trouble accessing the surveys or for any other questions, please email TMRDisabilityactionplan@tmr.qld.gov.au.
Feedback reporting feature in 13cabs app
At 13cabs, we’re focused on making travel more accessible and reliable for everyone — including people living with a disability.
For the best experience when booking, tracking your trip, or providing feedback, we recommend using the 13cabs Passenger App.
Here are a few tips on getting the most out of your 13cabs app:
- Preferred Driver Option
After completing a trip, passengers who rate their driver positively will be prompted to add that driver as a Preferred Driver. This means future trip requests will be offered to preferred drivers first when they are nearby. If none are available, the request will be sent to other drivers in the area immediately — with no delay to the booking.
- Submitting a Complaint or Enquiry
Passengers can easily submit feedback, complaints or general enquiries directly through the app. This can be done by selecting the main menu (three lines in the top left corner), choosing Contact Us, and answering a few quick questions. Once submitted, passengers receive a personal response from the team within 48 business hours.
- Travelling with an Assistance Animal
Passengers who travel with an assistance animal can note this in their app profile. This can be done by selecting the main menu (three lines in the top left corner), choosing Profile at the top, then switching on the toggle next to "Will you be travelling with an assistance animal?". This helps the support team prioritise these bookings and ensures appropriate follow-up if needed.
Stories That Matter – Disability & Resilience in the Bush
Life in Outback Queensland comes with unique challenges—but also incredible resilience and community spirit.
Their new video series, "Living the Best Life in the Bush with Disability," tells the powerful real-life stories of people with disability thriving in remote Queensland.
- Adam Ballard – A Longreach local with Williams Syndrome who’s built a meaningful life through work, volunteering, and radio.
- Daisy Walton – A First Nations woman with a visual impairment embracing creativity, confidence, and new skills.
- Jacques Jacobie – A determined advocate who, after a spinal cord injury, returned to work and pushed 29km in his wheelchair to raise funds for a friend.
These stories highlight both the challenges and the triumphs of living with disability in remote areas.

Please take a moment to watch, share, and amplify these voices. Disability in the bush deserves to be seen, heard, and supported.
