Mind the Gap: bridging the disability digital divide
A free online event organised by Queenslanders with Disability Network in recognition of Disability Action Week
‘Mind the Gap: bridging the disability digital divide’ is a free virtual event looking at innovative ways to close the digital divide for all people with disability, across all areas of their lives.
This is an event for everyone interested in hearing about the ways people with disability are already using technology to stay connected, and to come together to ask the big questions about how we can use these positive experiences to bridge the disability digital divide in Queensland communities.
As mainstream services and everyday supports move online due to COVID-19, it is more important than ever that people with disability have the devices, data, and skills they need to connect to their community and essential services online.
You will hear from a range of speakers – from entrepreneurs to health professionals, artists and advocates – on how people with disability, community, business and government are designing and innovating in the digital realm and connecting more people with disability than ever before.
Mind the Gap is organised by Queenslanders with Disability Network in recognition of Disability Action Week (14- 18 September), and in partnership with the Community Services Industry Alliance and Queensland Department of Communities, Disability Services and Seniors.
