Flooding Emergency South East Queensland

(updated 01/03/22)

Keeping safe during this time

We hope you are staying safe and we are thinking of everyone during this time. We know that many members, supporters and their families have been impacted significantly during this flooding event including having to evacuate, loss of power and services, and cut off from family, supports and staff.

It is important that people have information and numbers. Your local councils have up-to-date with local information. Please check your local council dashboard and monitor for emergency alters for your area about instructions if you need to stay or go.

The heavy rain and thunderstorms have stopped in some parts of South East Queensland but not all. Moderate and major flood warnings are in place for many communities. It is important to note that this is still a serious situation even though the rain has stopped and will continue for days.

Our emergency services including Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, SES, police, local council disaster staff and Community Recovery have had record breaking numbers of calls and they may take some time to respond. If you are in a serious situation – please call the emergency numbers below. If there is something that QDN can help with – please call 3252 8566 or 1300 363 783.

Some areas have power disconnected or power outages, please check with Energex for updates. Road closures are in place and people have been asked to stay at home today unless it is an emergency that you need to leave or for other reasons.
